Yep, color matters. Before I saw True Grit in the the-ay-ter last night, I was bombarded by trailers for several Inception rip-offs run through the low-saturation "grime filter" so many thrillers favor nowadays. I swear they want me to feel dirty or suicidal or something before I go in.
If they painted a mood as clearly and beautifully as What's Opera Doc? -- a wacky short that just happened to be designed with passion, as I imagine your wacky comics might be -- I might have taken those movies more seriously. Black-and-white comics are awesome, but exploring the possibilities of color is no waste of time.

Dude if THIS is how they are gonna look when colored, then you are not wasting time! Looks excellent!
Follow the rule of thumb for newspapers: only color on Sundays.
I think colour is important for grabbing attentio, plus you can really set the mood for a frame with colour.
If we were dogs who only see in black and white, or Woody Allen, then it wouldn't matter. Since we aren't, Color sells it best!
I'm with Ryan ;)
Very nice coloring Chris!
